Chet is a striking black beauty whose initial aloofness can be deceiving. As with many cats, he has been frequently overlooked as his colorful and more unusual looking shelter-mates have been selected to be part of a family. He seems to have become a bit disheartened by all of that rejection. When you spend time with him and focus your affection on him he becomes fully engaged. He will even invite you to rub his belly to show you that you have renewed his hope. Chet has been caged and in the shelter for a long time. He needs you as much as you need him. You can remind him what it feels like to be part of a family... to be loved.
